Joe Poole a.k.a. Wednesday 13 may not be the original horror punk, but one thing's for sure: he's an original. Poole formed and recorded four albums with the memorably-entitled band Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, then was recruited by Slipknot's Joey Jordison to front the Murderdolls. But it's his self-titled Wednesday 13 project, which he launched post-Murderdolls, that has proven the most enduring and influential among his many dark delvings into the demimonde. The band's 2005 debut Transylvania 90210-Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead is every bit as trashy, hilarious, outrageous, and, most of all, rocking as you would expect, highlighted by the singles ""I Walked with a Zombie"" (for which the promo video interpolated the band members into footage from Night of the Living Dead) and (our favorite) ""Bad Things"" with it's cathartic chorus ""I want bad things to happen to you."" Somehow, this horror rock classic has hitherto escaped vinyl release, but now, just in time for Halloween, we've remastered it for vinyl and are issuing it on suitably lurid neon green wax complete with color inner sleeve, with custom label design overseen by Wednesday 13 himself!
